Note also that Devon is currently drilling their King Gas Unit 1-H in the H.Hilton (A-304) survey in Shelby County.

On Petrohawk's map, this well is located where that small black box is detailed very near to the Southwestern edge of the blue-shaded "Lane Shoal" feature.

Devon's permit for that well is for a horizontal HA/BO completion, but they also have been approved with the TxRRC to first drill a deep directional pilot hole up to 18,000' for test and logging purposes.

The results from that well should add some data to the discussion as to what the overall prospects might look like for that region near the "Lane Shoal" feature.
I only follow the Haynesville and Bossier shale play. I can not speak to value for Cotton Valley prospects.
Hi, Skip -- We're part owners of 183 acres that lie mostly in S9 & 16, T16N, R14W (with some falling into S8 & 17)...I can't read anything on the map and don't know the area at all so can't use the Dixie Diner as you suggested to orient myself. Would you mind letting me know where our property falls within the Petrohawk map? If there's some identifying mark or word on the map, that would be great to know...Thank you. (Can I also ask about the pink outline map elsewhere on this site -- by townships(?) -- Have I identified our section 16 as having 28 wells on it or am I using the wrong reference numbers...?
On page 4 of this article shale geo installed a hyperlink and you can use adobe to magnify...helps a bunch!
Beth, 16N - 14W is far west of Dixie Inn which is a point of reference for the NE corner of the map. You need a reference point on the NW corner of the map and I haven't identified one just yet. 16N - 14W is the SW edge of the city limits of Shreveport. That should be close to the blue 4bcf line where it dips south just to the west of the Red River (the gray squiggly line separating Caddo and Bossier parishes.. Probably between the blue and green contour lines.
Beth, Section 16 is on top of the 4 Bcf contour and Section 9 is immediately north of the contour.
Les, ShaleGeo,

Any insights as to what the impact might be for those sections/surveys where the gray shaded fault-line/fissure details are listed. Looks to be a few of those scattered throughout the core areas both in LA and also in TX as well.

Curious about any initial toughts, insights or guesses as to whether there might be any impact - be it negative or positive - on the ultimate productivity of the land where those fault lines are directly situated.
David,
Was wondering if this question has anything to do with my property....is it included in your question?
I can't tell exactly where I am on the map but my section is 17-15n-15-w and my first well came in at 17.9 mmf per day. Is this an exceptional well? The serial number is 239731, if someone would please tell me if I am in a really good spot or not I would appreciate it.
WPT. I think I would give your well a very good rating because the flowing pressure was higher than many of the surrounding wells. The 6 Bcf EUR contour runs straight thru your section.

Chesapeake, Western D 17 #H1 Well, Serial #239731, S17-T15N-R15W, Caddo Parish, 17904 Mcfd, 22/64" Choke, 7729 psi Flowing Pressure
Thanks D Gaar. Not giving up hope yet. Thanks to all who responded about my question.

LJW
Can someone help me find 15-15-6 on this map? It's too blurry for me when I enlarge it?
Thanks so much.
