For people not in the offshore drilling business, trying to visulize this from verbal information is vague. This makes it clearer.

It is amazing how accurate they can be.

I have been involved in many directional pipeline drilling of river crossings, congested area, etc Even on large diameter. lengthy (over a mile) bores, at times I have seen the cutting head come out of thr ground and knock down the target stake.
