I noticed that the JBranch.pdf notice depicts all 8 wells.
The notices I have received never show all 8.( I have notices for the sections surrounding me and the section I am in.)
Why are some notices distributed without all wells int he section shown?
Is there any significance to this?
I hope it does not mean they are not really planning on ever drilling 8 :(

An alternate unit well application may be made at any time for any number of wells up to the maximum allowed. The operators applying for multiple alternate unit wells are likely those that plan to drill them in the near future. Instances of units with the full compliment of allowable alternate unit wells are rare and probably represent less than 4% of all units formed to date. Barring some physical impediment such as a fault, all drilling units should get six to eight wells in time.

VSC, I assume you are referring to the pre-unit and unit filing notices. If yes - those would be prior to the alternate well filings.

The unit app is just that, a unit application. That's what you receive in your mailbox. It makes no mention of where any well might be in the unit. The permit for the first well can be found on sonris, but you never receive that.

Alternate unit wells require the same notice and plat as the original unit order. The notice letter states quite clearly on the first page whether the application is for a drilling and production unit or for one or more an alternate unit wells.

There is a difference. You are double blessed no to have it sitting on your property. No offense to the businsess. The next time you go out there to look around wear your striped 'Where's Waldo 'shirt so we can locate you. in Exco's investor presentation, they say they are concentrating their drilling efforts in Holly Field & Shelby Trough? Is the Holly Field this good?

KCM, under Exco's terminology this would also include the Caspiana & Kingston Fields.

They are also very focused on drilling the sections acquired from Fossil/Tauren in Southern Caddo and Northern DeSoto. You may not see a bunch of alternate unit wells there, but they are darned sure going to HBP it all.

SB, I reckon Exco may HBP but just not drill additional wells in some areas until gas price improves.
