Hi Joey -
The well finally made it to SONRIS, looks like, today of all days (11/15). It is not as bad as I thought in terms of IP, though pretty wet. I sort of wonder if it indeed has tapered off to 3.5 MMCF/d in a couple of months, and if the water is involved or what... (all you O&G experts out there, feel free to enlighten on the fine points). Anyway, sonris shows initial IP of 8408 MCFD. Full entry is:
COMPLETED 9-1-10; GAS HAYNESVILLE RA; 8408 MCFD; 20/64 CHOKE; 1680 BWD; 7725# CP; PERFS 13,428-17,260' MD.
Dad worked in the oil field all his life and it very possible that they have it choked down now because of the amount of water being produced at this time. That has to go through some sort of separator system in order for them to remove the water from the gas. That's my thoughts based on what I saw in the oil field.
Joey, the "frac" water production from Haynesville Shale wells is different than "formation" water produced from conventional wells. Ths HS wells will intially flow back large volumes of the frac water but the rate should decline over time unless the well was inadverdently frac'ed into an adjacent formation.
Wondering if anyone in this section has received a divison order yet? When I called Encana, they said that would come before the checks. I heard a rumor that checks for this well would be cut on November 17th, but that is just a rumor. Maybe I'll call Enana and see what's up and if they know anything further.
Nothing sofar in terms of any paperwork from Encana for me, or folks I talk to about this well. I sent them an address update probably a month ago too (recently moved). How can they be cutting checks if the division orders haven't gone out? Aren't division orders subject to challenge or some such; I don't know really much of anything about the process, but I thought the idea was to give the mineral owners confirmation about how royalties will be divided before they actually start doing it? I had just as soon see the checks starting next year anyway, but really do want to be sure that division has been done correctly.
I don't know what division orders are, just that we were supposed to get them before checks were sent out. Hmmm... what you said makes sense though. Anyone else know anything about how long it takes between getting the division orders and when people start receiving checks? I guess I was hoping to get a check for Christmas! :-) Maybe Santa is listening...
Joey,

You may get a check from Encana before the division order. S18-T14N-R14W got checks and have not received a division order. Make sure they use the correct decimal interest to figure your check.
Thank you FXEF. We will make sure they are figuring the check correctly. We called Encana this morning and they said checks would be cut sometime before the 24th for September's production. Encana said this is a 50/50 with Shell and I was able to find a contact number for them, but have not been able to talk to them just yet to find out what and when to expect something from them.
Joey,
Would you have the phone number to share for the Coushatta Encana office, and whatever you find for Shell? I had a contact for Encana in Colorado and let them know that my address changed, but now that Shell is in the mix too, I am a little worried about checks and division orders disappearing into black holes... (I have had to move 3 times this year, so am a bit more vulnerable on this than usual, and post office forwarding is less than 100% reliable).
Could you provide the number you are calling @ Encana. We are in T12N R8W Sec 5 and the well (240963) has been producing since late Aug and we have heard nothing.
Sure. The Encana numbers are: Coushatta office 318-932-8602; corporate office in Denver 866-917-3700. Susan was the name of the lady I spoke to in Denver. Our well was turned to sales September 1st. When I spoke to her the first time (around the 1st of November), she could see that it had been turned over to sales, but no payments showing. She asked me to call back after the 15th, so I called again on the 16th and she said she could see that payments were scheduled to be sent out. Very nice people and easy to talk to. May have to leave a message, but they were very prompt about returning my call.
Hi Charles,
Yes I also got Shell division orders today, and heard that Encana is cutting checks for their half before sending out division orders. I got more direct phone numbers, "Royalty Hotlines", for both - these are the folks you need to deal with on royalty and division order issues:
Encana - 866-917-3700 (per Joey's email also - very nice folks)
Shell - 281-544-2600 (also nice, though you typically have to leave a msg and get called back)
I am thinking these folks are not going to be difficult to deal with, unlike some of the other players, based on first impressions.
