There is a alot of information. I am in the process of categorizing it, but it takes some time. The site began in late May and we have had over 1500 posts not counting the parish/county group discussions. Be sure to join your county/parish group. Alot of information is shared here and the discussions tend to get to heart of the matter. If you have a question about leasing in your area, this is the place to post it.

Also, get acquainted with the website. There are a bunch of gadgets on here, but they are easy to learn.

Click on "my setting" over in the box on the right upper corner of the homepage. This allows you to get to info on:

1. Account
2. About Me
3. Privacy
4. Email

Also in the sign in box are the "my friends" and "invite" links. As you post you may want to befriend people. This link sends an invite to them. Also, you'll see an "inbox" link. This is an internal priavte email system. No one can see this, even the administrators of the site. If you have it set correctly, you can get a copy of the message sent to your regular email. Also, in the box, you'll see a "quick add" ability. This speeds up the process of posting something.

Also. click n all the tabs along the top of the home page.

"Your Place" is the page where people can leave you comments on your wall. There is also a text box on "Your Place" in which you can enter simple text to tell us more about you or you can plug in html to put a "hyper link," "add an image" or "upload a document." If you are unsure as to how to do this, grab the nearest 5th grader. "Your Place" will also show all your pictures, blogs, video, posts, events, groups.

"Your Place" also has a theme which can be changed. To do this the "theme' link is under your profile picture when you are on "Your Place."

To keep up with the site I suggest using a feeder. Here are a few.

Hello, my name is Pamela and I have NO clue about all this!!

I, my 4 siblings and Uncle (recently deased), now 3 cousins apparently have a non-participating interest in 42 acres on a 550 acre unit. We signed an Acknowledgment and Ratification of Oil, Gas and Minerals Lease??? What did we sign, as we knew nothing about any of this before getting paperwork in Mar 2010?

The land is part of the Nathan Davis Survey, A-147. Suppossedly 13-17 mi SE of Central, west of Shelby?? Thee was something about Cr 1095 & 1097 or 1098 also. Our part is 42 acres of a 550 acre unit. Or so I am told. I was also told that the first well "came in" after about 60 days and 2 others after that? How do I find out what they are doing-- ie production..whatever?
Pamela-- you sign a ratification and therefore accepted the lease terms of a lease by whoever sign the original lease by prior heirs. I would recommend you consult with a good oil & gas attorney to review situation and all the paper work to see what the deal is or if not good to see if can appeal and obtain a new lease. In future never sign anything you do not understand. I hope the lease you ratified is not too old or bad and you will still be OK. Please have it review by knowledgable attorney

Mainly I'm interested in what's going on with triad leases around Magnolia Ark, I have interests in several hundred acres around there.  I was born in Shreveport but now I live in the Pacific NW.  I'll be visiting back home more frequently in the future though.  Last time I was there I noticed I could get a LA "non-resident native" hunting/fishing license.  Might as well have fun while on a business trip, right?

I'm new on here and was trying to find out what the drillers think about Sabine County? Are they still interested in it? I know the price of gas needs to go up to make it more attractive, and I've read that they are becoming more interested in other plays like Eagle Ford etc. Any tyhoughts?

Hi, I am new to forum and thought I would ask a non specific area question to see how it works. In a section of 640 acres does everyone have to sign a lease before a well can drill or is there a percentage. It seems there are always problems getting 100% to sign.  Thanks   Terry
There is no state regulation regarding minimum acres under lease to develop a unit.  There is however an obvious business limitation in that it is not economic to develop a section/unit with too much unleased acreage.  How much is too much?  Depends on the specifics and the company making the decision to drill.  Many Haynesville units are developed with less than 100% participation.
I am asking a question about this site permit that appeared in 7-24-11 newspaper  NATCHITOCHES PARISH XTO ENERGY INC. Blankenship 29h, 1, Sec. 32, T10N, R10W, San Miguel Creek 20,000' MD 14900' TVD, Haynesville RA  as I am not very familiar with a lot of this, does this mean they will set a rig on section 32 and after reaching the required dept horizontal over into 29. A fine road is being built on section 32 up to the corner where 29 starts and it appears that way.
Yes, the well surface location (pad) will be in Section 32 and the horizontal portion of the well will be drilled into Section 29 as indicated by the well name.  Mineral owners of record in Section 29 will be paid the royalties.
Skip: Since the well pad will be located in section 32, would that void option payments when a three year lease expired in seven months. This assuming no other drilling took place in section 32.
