I thought the two companies did much the same thing but I'll defer to others that might give you a definitive answer. I have had experience with Global and was satisfied in the way they treated my property. It appears they offer 15-25.00 and acre to run their lines and record seismic data. There is also MicroSeismic that acquires data for EOG. They drill and place a geophone approximately 300' underground and record seismic events during fracking operations. I assume all prices are negotiable and you wouldn't have to accept anything unless there is some kind of existing agreement for such operations. I've been accomadating so far with these folks feeling that good informaion may be in my best interest. We'll see!
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
