I got it on good authority that Devon was moving resources into leasing in Harrison County.  Can anyone confirm?  I got no specifics on portions of the county, just that resources were being put here instead of resigning leases in the Shelby/San Augustine area.

Why would they do this? Gas prices wouldn't warrant a lot of drilling in Harrison County? Maybe they are........(fill in the blank)
I heard the same thing from a reliable source 6 weeks ago, but I have not heard anything since.  I believe the leasing was to be in the northern part of the county, central and east.  I see in the latest drilling report that Devon is going to drill a 10,000 foot well in P. Dougherty Survey, A-5.
Caddo Rat, I think they are chasing shallower (Cotton Valley and above) liquids with lower drilling and completion costs, and the hope to capture some Haynesville (albeit, not a sweetspot) for future development. From what I know of some the leases they are choosing not to develop in Shelby/San Augustine County, my gut is is they are being short sigthed. That said, they certain know a lot more about what might be in a particular place than I do.

Liquid is my guess. We'll see what their permits call for. I heard that leasing activity in Cass county has really picked up. They aren't looking for gas up there.
