Haven't heard that one but haven't had my ear too close to the ground on seismic because of all the BS on the folks out there trying to buy those BS oil and gas leases on the cheapo for 50 bucks for seismic with option to lease for $150. All the folks that have contacted me regarding this deal for consultation, I have told to pass on it.
Note that a company wanting to shoot will offer you a deal for whatever $10 to $35 per acre but the document will say Seismic Permit and it will not have option language to be able to lease your minerals. Do make a deal with the real seismic folks but stay clear of the BS seismic lease option ones. That is just my opinion and I am not an attorney, just a Landman that was born and raised here in central Louisians along with my Great-Great- Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Father. My family dates back to probably the early 1830's here in Cenla.
seems as thought some really great things are happening in NW st landry parish... hopefully the push will continue to move west across evangeline... vernon and rapides showing promise also.. as well as avoyelles ....

I do know that it was 3/16ths. I also believe it was prior to '97 (I could go back and check my abstract). I do know that some family members did recieve $175 a few miles to the NE (Lone Pine area). As for the Crowells; I heard (rumor only) that they received 1/3 with little or no bonus.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
