ker. A well permit will be issued by the state. Click on the link. Click on"SONRIS LITE" under "Database Access". Click "Permitted Wells By Parish". Enter your parish and review the permits listed. There is a lag time between a permit being issued and it appearing on the database, so check often. Or just call the operator and ask.

They probally won't apply for a permit untill they are just about ready to drill.

You can also look for location building activity.
Chk. is preparing a drilling site off Buncombe Rd. T16 R15 S17 ..It has 3 large pits. Why so many pits for one site? It is also on the corner of S17 S16 S8 and S9. There are many sites being prepared in T16 R15 right now. We are in S9 and not even leased. I assume before they drill that we will be.
How big is the site?

It might be one of these superpads they have bragged about. Are the pits all the same size?
Are they close together or spread out?
The site doesn't look much larger than the average. One of the workers doing dirt work told me they would put two wells (not at the same time) on the cleared site (S17). There are three pitts and they are scattered on the N, E, and South side. They all look the same size to me. They have started clearing another site on S 9 about 300 feet from S17 site. By the way, thanks for the response.
It will be intersetin to see which direction they go with the laterals. They may even be planning to drill a lateral to produce from an adjacent unit.
Does anyone know anything about whats going on ,on Johns gin rd S 28 T 15N 16 W?They have cut timber and now they are building a wide road.Any information would be helpful.
Wanda, it could be a road to a new location or it could be a right of way to a well that has already been drilled or is being drilled. I did a quick check on Sonris and noticed a well in Section 21 which is north of 28 but I don't know what part of Section 28 you are in so I couldn't say if it is close enough to the well in 21 for you to see a pipeline ROW. There is a Muslow Land and Timber well being drilled, well #238878 in s21-15N-16W and a well in section 34 which is to the south east of section 28, the Bray 34H, well #237995. The Muslow well is a HS well and they should be close to bottom. I didn't pull up the Bray well. There are alot of permits in T15N-R16W so if this one doen't affect you, sit tight, it won't be long before the get to Sect 28 cause they're all around ya'll now.
That whole township is a hotbed of activity.
How do you know this? How can I find this info? Thanks
Look at the maps on SONRIS. Look at all the new hort. wells in that area.

I spot each well as its permited on my maps, That whole area is crazy.
I am about three miles down johns gin off of springridge/stateline rd.We have received letters about the other wells around us,but we haven't heard anything about this. This I'm pretty sure will be in our 640 unit if we are pooled.Haven't heard anything about that either. Thanks Rick for your info, was very helpfull.Good luck to everyone.
