Rig up on Cromholt property west of Baker in East Baton Rouge Parish

The rig is up and should be drilling tomorrow. This is a unit that was unitized by LLOG several months ago for Tuscaloosa. My question is why are they putting in an oil based mud system for a straight vertical TUSC well? Any comments from mud men or anyone with a good guess would be appreciated.

The well on Carney Rd. is the Decker Farms LLC by New Century. Its a WX well with a permitted depth to 10,500 ft.

The Crumholt by LLOG is drilling ahead to 19,700 ft. in Lower Tuscaloosa. They set 9"+ liner through TMS. Both Eagle Ford and TMS show Good formation development and high resistivity. It will be interesting to see if they use this information to test either of the two formations at some point in the future.

Indeed, Joe!

I saw yesterday, the oil rig is gone for this site.

Can anyone give me information on the well that has activity off hooper road near lovett?  I found that it was owned by BP and was shut down  shortly after the gulf incident.  It along with other tuscaloosa wells were purchased by Hilcorp in Oct 2011.  This well is located directly behind my property in a wooded area!  Should I be asking this question here or somewhere else?  New to this site!

Bridgette,

That well was completed by Hilcorp. I don't have the test handy but it was a good well. Hilcorp has permitted a second well in the area. Should be drilling now or in the near future.

Oh, it was completed as a gas well in Lower Tuscaloosa Sands.

Joe,

Thanks for your reply!  I happened upon this site by doing a bit of research.  Oil and gas wells are being drilled behind me from what I understand.  I am new to all this and not familiar with land rights..etc.   I can tell you that about  5 years ago a seismographic company came in here with equipment and pounded away on our streets.  A year later they sent out $25.00 checks with a letter about leases.  I did not cash the check or sign anything!  A year after that they sent out  $50.00 checks and this lease info again.  I did not cash the check.  Now, they are actively drilling this well (can see and hear it directly behind my property)  I have never heard another word about mineral rights or leasing!    What I did run across in this recent researching was info regarding the dangers of sandy shale drilling.  Can you or anyone else here tell me about this?  And your going to have to give it to me in laymans terms as I am clueless!!!

and..why I did not cash the check or sign the lease?  I was not comfortable with the wording in the lease about giving up rights to my property.  There didn't seem to be any protection for me as a property owner.  I have since found out that alot of us in this subdivision did not sign or cash!

Bridgette, has any of this operators representatives been to see you or talked to you by phone or have they just sent you deals by mail?

Just mail, several years ago before Hilcorp took over the well.  No phone call to me, but there was one to my mother who has a home in the same neighborhood.  She told them if they could convince her daughter she would consider it.  They never called me!

Crap company don't do buisness with them. If you live in the prospect they should meet you face to face, if you live 1000 miles from the prospect they should at least talk to you on the phone and send you a lease after talking to you by phone. Operators that try to do deals from behind their desk using USPS don't know people and are to be left in the ditch. If you got 1000 acres then I am going to try to look you in the eye but if you got 1/10 acre and live 1000 miles away, then I am going to try to look you in the ear. Needless to say you will know me by at least voice and not paper unless I cannot find a phone listing for you.

ok..how do I message you in private??
