These are 320 acre drilling and production units in Sections 29 & 32 - 9N - 13W and Section 36 - 9N - 14W.

Skip, I have pasted below info from SONRIS info on #244417. Am I reading the Allowable correctly, I,e, 3,000 BOPD? I can't find what the type code 1 represents and don't want to get too excited. Also, are allowables in testing phase usually indicative of IP? Thanks!

Very interesting well.  Yes, 3000 would be BOPD.  However I can't explain the significant difference between the two allowable tests.  It's possible the 3000 is a typo so I'd be skeptical until the final completion and allowable test reports are entered in the database.  This is Samson Contour's first multi-lateral horizontal Fredricksburg well so I am unable to review the performance of similar wells.  The Fredricksburg is shallow and conventional so the next caution would be not to expect that it is productive over a wide area until other wells are drilled to define the extent.  Samson obviously thinks it possible that the productive interval may extend over the 12 drilling units they have formed.  And there have been numerous HA wells drilled in this area that could provide a wealth of knowledge if cores or logs were taken in the Fredricksburg.  Thanks for the heads up.  Here's a link to the well permit including a plat showing the three horizontal laterals.

The notice I received only has 11 drilling units on it (another notice cancelled one of them) and this drilling unit is not one of them.  The drilling units on my notice are all in R13.  Are the two additional drilling units in S1 T8 R14 and S36 T9 R14?

Links to both Samson Contour unit applications are included in this discussion thread.  The original in the discussion title and the second two responses into the thread (page 1).  Open the pdf's for both and go to the last page of the application which has the plat.

Thank

Thanks Skip! I've been leaning toward a typo too. However, 300 would not be shabby. I've also heard there is an earlier Samson Fredericksburg well across the lake at Huxley Bay. I am not familiar with RR usage & cannot look it up. However I believe it IP'd somewhere around 300-500. I don't know if it was a multi-lateral or not. Thanks for link to plat. I'd not seen it and am interested in how they placed it. Have family land in that unit and in western half of the section.
After trying all day, I finally managed to get on SONRIS on iPhone with wifi off. Found #244417 had an update. Shows for 5/15 -6/30 an allowable of 900 and Estmated Potential of 259. No well tests showing nor any other change I could see. (But reading on my phone has it's challenges these days :) ). I'm not familiar with different allowables & potentials. I'm going to assume the estimated potential is likely to be closer to real production, unless someone knows differently.

Just to be clear, is this 259 BOPD?

Also, does anyone know if there has been any leasing in S30 T9 R13?

Probably.  SONRIS Classic is down so I can't access the Potential Report.

The LUW Type Code was oil. Drove by the site Saturday. One trailer still there and pipes above hole, but not what I'm used to seeing as a Christmas Tree. Also a number of something that looked like mud pits, with liquid spraying on top of the one nearest the hole. Sorry for my less than technical descriptions! We met two tank trucks leaving, were not oil tankers.

The Potential Report has not been  entered in the database yet.

SDM20 test results now on SONRIS for 244417. Appeared sometime after I looked around 11. Shows 259 BOPD and flow pressure of 310. Also 3880 water on 27 choke. Is this good, bad or indifferent? Thanks.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
