Maybe swn can't break the code? Depletion curves may need to be evaluated? Maybe they are stacking the rigs until they get the cash to fund the operations? Whatever the reason, it looks as if things are going to be really slow for a while. I think swn has a presentation at the end of August so maybe they'll share some info then.

just a rumor heard in north ark, stacking more than just two rigs on the table, brown dense and marcellus.

Really?  Are we really going to allow rumors to run rampant here?  Lets please try to keep discussions as factual as possible.

That's what a message board is for :)

My apologies if I ruffled any feathers...

If my opinion regarding rumors is in the minority, then I will be quiet about this from here on out.  But, I think we would all prefer postings with an element of fact in them.  Anyone here could post alarmist rumors if they wanted, but i my opinion, that doesn't serve to elevate the level of informed discussion on the board, and amounts to little more than gossip.

Matthew,

Time will tell.

Rumors are easily differentiated from fact with links. If there are documents, articles, websites, etc. to back up what someone says then it's fact. Everything else is rumor in my opinion.

Norte:

I think we agree, sir.

Seems to me that there's nothing wrong with posting hearsay as long as the poster tells the truth as to it being nothing more than a word-of-mouth rumor.

That's the needed clarification (and, of course, it's honorable to have the intent of attempting to help others and not simply to game the forum as a way to make a buck off of hard-working innocent landowners).

Yes, and some of us remember back to when GHS first starter (in the summer of 2008) -- and, if you ask me, the members learned a ton of intel from word-of-mouth, being as a certain number of the knowledgeable insiders were wanting to keep a lid on the helpful info.

Yep, back when the HA first spread like a wildfire through so many parishes in La., getting the honest scoop on what was truly up wasn't at all easy, let me tell ya.

So, y'know, the trick is to be wise enough to parse the "hearsay" as to whom is posting what about whatever.

In other words, if a GHS member spends many months (and years) tracking the posts of various folks and correlating the facts as they eventually leak out . . . then a profile begins to emerge as to the who, what, where, and why of the intel.

(Sorta.)

But it ain't easy.  It does take due diligence and a heavy investment of time.

That stated -- if you ask me, boots-on-the-ground rumor sometimes -- sometimes -- can, in fact, be a good bit more factually than trying to vet Wall Street hype or trying to figure out the pump-and-dump b.s. of less than honest manipulators of PR.

I see that SONRIS Lite, as of 8/27/2012, is now also reporting "Inactive Dry Hole; Future Utility - 7/27/12" for the Johnson 21well. I don't know how significant this is, though, since the Dan Hughes Plum Creek well in Morehouse Parish was also reported as "inactive dry hole" on 5/7/2012, but was fracked less than 2 months later.

Frac crew started rigging up a couple days ago on the Johnson #21 well. Sandking set and loading sand. Shut down for the storm. Should be back on location Tuesday.

Thank you oft. I wish them the best of luck with the fracking. I do wish I understood why SWN called the well "Inactive Dry Hole" and then proceeds to frac it. Are they playing mind games with us?

Maybe their financial situation is where they are living day to day???

Never seen anything like it myself, Just dont make since to file section 31 when they had plans to frac. They may hold out on flowing this well for a while.
