I heard today that a company called Cougar Land Co. was leasing land to do a 3D seismic on 118K acres covering 200 sq. miles along the Ar-La stateline. It supposedly will start NE of Haynesville north into Ar into 19S 19W all the way over to Webster Parish. This is a very good source and he was offered $15 per acre. Has anyone else been approached by this company? This sounds like really good news.

I signed it today. Hope they find something

I just got a second letter from them stating the Fed Gov wants to accompany them, while they are doing the survey, to look for historical artifacts. I will say no.

ha ha

They sent us a letter wanting to do a seismographic survey in Section 30 Township 19 South Range 20 West.

are you in arkansas?

yes, Columbia County

I've been out of the loop for awhile, I don't think of heard from Cougar about this seismic work.  I'd be open for it if it doesn't conflict with existing leases and some HBP we have in Columbia.  Do they still have an office in Homer?  Should I contact them?

Joe,

I feel that there is no need for you to contact them at this time. I have been in contact with them frequently and know that they are still mailing permit forms. They only have 15 permit men working on 200+ sq. miles. They still have office in Homer. Their phone number is 318-550-7724 in case you do want to call them. I think they might appreciate your calling. I urge everyone to sign consent. it will have no bearing on any existing leases.

Thanks Aubrey -  I'm close to wrapping up several estates (finally appointed as mom's executor) and my brother has been in touch with the mineral people up to this point.  So I am playing catch-up on these matters. Oddly enough, Homer is my old hometown.

Any more news on the survey? I am most interested as I have mineral interests in Section 30 currently under lease by TRIAD.   I am currently recieving royalty from the well Rowe 1-29 located in Section 29 of T19S - R20W.  Good to see activity in the area again, maybe we will see some more wells drilled.

Razorback,

The only new news that I have is that one of the clients is pushing Cougar to finish survey as quickly as possible. For at least 25 years I have thought that a 3-D seismic survey should be conducted on these lands.

I have no doubt that we will see more drilling done as result of this survey.

Is your land which you collect royalty on in Marathon's Cypress Field?  Just a guess. I think that Rowe heirs own land in Cypress Field. Quite possible survey might lead to more drilling in or near this field and throughout survey area.

Good luck to all of us!!

Rowe 1-29 production results can be found on the Ark web site.  The land I have leased is S3/4 SE1/4 NE1/4 of Section 29 in T19S-R20W.  OPS GROUP LIMITED is handling the production and royalty payments from this well.  It also have been named Bradley 29-1, however OPS production record and royalty check refer to the well as Rowe 1-29.
