I should clarify what I said earlier about Legacy Reserves. This is their first HA permit filed in Shelby County. They have been operator of record since September 2015 on four wells originally drilled by Marathon in 2010. Those four wells are just west of Huxley and three existing XTO-HA units. This well is in the same general area.

Interesting, thanks.  About how far west would you say?

Pretty close... 1.8 miles between this new SL and XTO - Rhine 1H SL on google earth.

Thanks, Julie.  About how far would you say from Huxley?

Pretty sure this is the rig that they are using.

Big boy!

If I should start a new thread please advise.

The Cothrom well, 419-31815, that is the subject of this thread has been completed and information about production is available on the RRC website.  In addition there are at least two other Cothrom wells completed and producing at this time, and a couple more permitted.  I know this because we have some mineral acres in the almost 22,000 acre BLM lease area.  The additional Cothrom wells are numbered 419-31815 to 419-31821.

I have questions because this is an odd setup for me and I want to understand how our royalty is being figured.  First the BLM lease, TXNM142301X: is there a way to get a plat of the federally leased areas?  I'm just going around in circles on the website.  The information I do have from the operator tells me that our royalty is paid on any wells within the USA Cothrom Unit whether or not our acreage is in the individual well units, but I can't figure our acreage till I know the total acres of the larger unit.  Any information you could provide or lead me to would be much appreciated.  I have asked Legacy and although they have been responsive on some requests, illness in their office seems to have slowed the flow of information and I'm impatient.

Another question is about the naming of the unit wells.  They all share the Cothrom name but then have letters like Cothrom HN N 2 H or  Cothrom MBS C8 8H, can you tell me the reason for these names?  Thank you!

Good questions for Julie.

I found an email from the beginning of the leasing process and found that the BLM lease had been attached to it.  Was able to glean from the attached exhibits that the N and B designations correspond with planned drilling areas.  The MBS stands for Mid Bossier Shale and HN is Haynesville.  There was also the unit outline but no total acres and according to the lease the total acre area could be adjusted a few years down the road.  So some answered questions and still some to discover.  If anyone finds the total acreage please add it.  I’ll post when I find out.
