EnCana Presentation

I suggest people look at the following EnCana presentation (2/24/09) that provides some new information regarding the Haynesville Shale play. Of special interest is is the map on page 8 that shows the play extending quite a bit further to the south and southwest than previously shown. This will be of particular interest to those located in some of the Texas counties. Also on page 8 is some information on the mid-Bossier play that looks promising. EnCana's Colbert Timberlands H1 well is flowing ~ 4 MMcfd from the mid-Bossier with only 3 frac stages. Finally it appears the Blackstone 12 #H1 must have tested at 21 MMcfd which is EnCana's highest rate to date.

B, it did not show any permitted Haynesville Shale wells in your area although Questar has drilled some recent Cotton Valley wells in those sections. The following Haynesville Unit was filed by Questar:

S5/37-T15N-R12W, HA RA SUJJ Unit, Questar, Elm Grove Field, Caddo Parish

Is the red on the map the entire Haynesville Shale play?

JWC, I assume that is EnCana's interpretation of the play boundary.

If they were to add the Upper Bossier shale formation to this presentation what would it look like from east to west north and south for Tx./La.? I only see the Middle Bossier shale formation being presented in regards to picture presentations. The only hint of the Upper Bossier shale formation is a red line underneath it in the Gulf Coast Jarassic Trend on page 6 (p.12 encana)to the right. I am assuming that Encana just made a red asteric next to it only to reference what formations they are ultimately targeting,yet they make no mention of half the targets or present them in this presentaion. I guess if they did it would confuse us even more than this? I know it will make perfect since once you all explain it to us but dang that is a bunch to handle all at once. Thanks Encana

Graysands, I have not heard EnCana discuss any specific plans for testing the Upper Bossier Shale. Of course terminology is getting harder to follow as some companies just use the term "Bossier Shale" without being specific to Upper Bossier, Middle Bossier or Lower Bossier (Haynesville) Shale.
