Since it's a slow Friday on the GHS, and I have nothing better to do.
I got to thinking, lately some us having been using songs to describe our mood.
Songs can be a great way to describe you life without having to go into detail.
What song best describes your life.

I love it Jim, that's a great one.
Who doesn't like Frank Sinatra, I'll bet you'll see.. I DID IT MY WAY... 10 times.
Jim, mine would be.

SIMPLE MAN

MAMA TOLD NE WHEN I WAS YOUNG
COME SIT BESIDE ME, MY ONLY SON
AND LISTEN CLOSELY TO WHAT I SAY.
AND IF YOU DO THIS
IT WILL HELP YOU SOME SUNNY DAY.
TAKE YOUR TIME.....DON'T LIVE TOO FAST
TROUBLES WILL COME AND THEY WILL PASS.
GO FIND A WOMAN AND YOU'LL FIND LOVE.
AND DON'T FORET SON,
THERE IS SOMEONE UP ABOVE.

AND BE A SIMPLE KIND OF MAN
BE SOMETHING YOU LOVE AND UNDERSTAND
BE A SIMPLE KIND OF MAN.
WON'T YOU DO THIS FOR ME SON
IF YOU CAN.

FORGET YOUR LUST FOR THE RICH MAN'S GOLD
ALL THAT YOU NEED IS IN YOUR SOUL,
AND YOU CAN DO THIS IF YOU TRY.
ALL THAT I WANT FOR YOU MY SON,
IS TO BE SATISFIED.

BOY,DON'T YOU WORRY....YOU'LL FIND YOURSELF.
FOLLOW YOUR HEART AND NOTHING ELSE.
AND YOU CAN DO THIS IF YOU TRY.
ALL I WANT FOR YOU MY SON,
IS TO SATISFIED.

Gary Rossington & Ronnie Van Zant
I like it when Hank Jr. sings it! :-)
But, Taylor you still didn't give us your song
Luckenbach, Texas (The basics of love)

There's only two things in life that make it worth livin'
That's guitars that tune good and firm feelin' women
I don't need my name in the marquee lights
I got my song and I got you with me tonight
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love

Let's go to Luckenbach Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us feuding
like the Hatfield and McCoy's
Between Hank Williams pain songs, Newberry's train songs
and blue eyes cryin' in the rain, out in Luckenbach Texas
ain't nobody feelin' no pain

So baby let's sell your diamond ring
Buy some boots and faded jeans and go away
This coat and tie is choking me
In your high socitey you cry all day
We've been so busy keepin' up with the Jones
Four car garage and we're still building on
Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love

I love anything Waylon, Willie, or Hank. :-)
P.S We wore out that old 8 track tape! LOL
Anything my man Nat King Cole has ever sung!
Mona Lisa
Lazy Crazy Days of Summer
I'm in the mood for Love
and my most favorite UNFORGETTABLE

and I have to mention Jackson Browne's Running on Empty

What a fun thread. Thanks Jim and welcome back. It's good to see you around GHS again
Show them to me-Rodney Carrington
How about Willie Nelson's "Whiskey River"?

I have been on overseas pipeline construction jobs, so rough that if you did not drink, it was a good place to learn to drink.
