Has anyone heard when their might be any activity in this section? I know they have been completing some wells close to there. I'm following this Shale production for my father. He is 83 years old now and bought 10 acres of minerals in that section in 1966. That was a lot of money in 66 for a working man to shell out. There is some old production there but he doesn't get much from it. I would love to see him get a big ole fat check and see some real money out of it before he passes. We live in Minden, so this site is really good! If anyone hears of anything going on, we would surely appreciate the relay of the info. Thanks

Skip Peel and Les B. are the go-to guys for that kind of information. From the map Skip posted there are 11 sections in that T-R that have wells permitted in them, he can tell you which sections.
Hello, Billy. The first thing that you can do in your father's interest is to ask him not to sign any contract regardless of what he is told until you have had an opportunity to review it. Even if someone is waving a check in his face. Get him to promise. As to his ten acres in township 12N - range 12W, Section 13 does not currently have a drilling and production unit order or application. That is not to say that there is no leasing activity as the township is in the core of the HS play. What it probably means is that no company has imminent plans to develop your father's section. At today's natural gas prices, that's okay. In 12N - 12W the following sections have HS unit orders or applications: Sections 4,5,7-9 to Long Petroleum, S 6 to SWEPI, S10 to Pinnacle, S20 to Chesapeake and Sects. 28,32,33 to EOG. If I got to pick the operator for your father's section, my preference would be Chesapeake followed by EOG followed by SWEPI. Good Luck.
Skip, actually it appears Chesapeake is now operator for all the units previously filed by Long & Pinnacle.
Thanks for the info Skip. That section is leased and under production since sometime in the 70's. River Rouge Minerals out of Mansfield is whom his royalty comes from. I think this company is working with Chesapeake as the operator on the drilling that will be in that area. I believe they just completed a well in either section 10 or 11. People at River Rouge assures him that they are right on top of it. Hopefully sometime in the near future they will get a well there when the price goes up. Sure hope it pays off for him. It may one day be a good return on 1000 bucks he spent in 1966. A lot of money back then, especially with a wife and four kids. It would just tickle the heck out of me if something happened and he was still here to see it payoff. Thanks again for the info.
Billy,

I have mineral rights in Section 11 T12 R12, and I know for sure nothing is going on there just yet. ANd, I heard that Chesapeake moved to Section 9 after finishing the well in Section 10 in T12 R12, but they will be staying in that area. Also, I found out that River Rouge has "assigned" deep drilling rights on existing leases they hold in the Naborton area to Chesapeake..... So hold on, it's coming.

Linda, Chesapeake has three rigs working in your area:

Nomac #3 Rig, Chesapeake, Reddy 9 #H1 Well, Serial #239445, S9-T12N-R12W
Trinidad #109 Rig, Chesapeake, Calhoun 7 #H1 Well, Serial #239433, S7-T12N-R12W
Trinidad #127 Rig, Chesapeake, Petro-Hunt 8 #H1 Well, Serial #239568, S8-T12N-R12W
Les,

I know they are all around me, but they just haven't gotten to any of my Sections in T12 R 12 yet. I'm hoping it won't be too much longer. I don't own the land, but I have the mineral rights to 200 acres in Section 11, 200 acres in Section 12, and 80 acres in Section 1, all in T12N R12W. I also have an additional 200 acres in Section 6 T12N R11W, and I just recived a notice of application for permit on that Section last week. So I know they will be getting to my other Sections soon. ....... My husband and I have 15 grandchildren that we want to help get through college, and we thank God everyday for this wonderful blessing.
