The Euros Are Coming to Take Our Shale!
While today only BP, to my knowledge, is the big Euro holder in the HS, look for other JV's to happen, especially in light of low gas prices and too much acreage to hold.

Another Euro into US shale (S&P1500 E&P $397) – Make it three. STO/CHK jv in Marcellus, BP buying Woodford, now ENI/KWK in Barnett. Big guys clearly want to understand secret sauce around shale gas development. JV’s show STO/ENI thinking it easier to watch over established player’s shoulder than do it themselves..logical and faster, albeit more expensive than organic process. Will big guys keep buying? Probably..watching XCO to validate.

off subject - sort of - I once won a trip to see Damn Yankees in concert in Nashville by singing They're Coming to Take me Away Ha- Haa, he-he, ho-ho, to the funny farm, where life is beautiful...... at Cowboys night club in front of hundreds of people. It was a hillarious night for sure with most of the impromptu singers being so drunk they couldn't read the words - it turned into a boo-fest and instead of the winner getting the most applause, the most boos won. Well I went on last, and had actually prepared and knew the words, so I got the most boos! And that's the rest of the story!!

Jay, although not a Euro I have been waiting for ConocoPhillips to jump into the shale gas vat in a bigger way. They already have a lot of expertise in coalbed methane (CBM) and are a large enough player to apply any learnings in other countries.
