What does it mean and what is it called when a section is divided? Is everyone in that section under separate leases or does everyone in that section own each well? Example, two or three wells in one section but it was divided....how do they determine who signs the leases and gets the checks??? Someone please help me out....thanks!

So if there are two wells in my section a stone's throw from one another, then we should be paid for both??????????????
Not so sure....how would I find out?
It doesn't state anything about a unit on my lease. Would the department of conservation know??????? Attorney?????????? Help!!!!!!!!
I appreciate what you've told me so far.....I think my neighbors will be pleased. Thanks for your help! :)
Thanks ya'll...... I do appreciate your trying to help. But if you really want to help, I have lots of neighbors that are willing to let you review their leases for them along with all documentation to give us answers. We need someone with a real good background knowledge to determine some things. We aren't learning anything unless you are willing to work together. Even if the answer is not in our favor or popular, we need an unbiased, excellent person who can guide us in the right direction. If you are looking out for O&G's, and not concerned about the people factor, we don't need your response on this discussion. I'm looking for someone who really wants to help, not instigate an argument. There is a larger picture here that includes many retired people, children and struggling families. There is no time for squabbles.

There is an entire community involved where a company signed leases back in 1999 and since then the well is HBP. I am proud to say that this year alone I have 38 cents to show for my production. lol Many are trying to decode our leases and been fed many false-promises by the company or no call back at all to our questions. Sounds like a snake pit for other people in O&G to dive into....but if you like to fight you are invited to respond but, I don't want it to be within our group. Any response?
Mom, I read on another thread the Office of Conservation has all the pertinent information, unit boundaries, etc.
thank you....

I have previously called the office of conservation and they are such happy people there that I never called back...looks like I will have to try again.
I know these guys already...they are wonderful! I would trust them highly. More people in our area need to be a part of SWAMO...that's why their signs are in my yard. Thanks for your help!
Mom learn to use sonris, you can find a bunch of information there. Units are made within a section or sections they can be from small to large. Find the serial numbers and check at "Document Images" on "Sonris Heavy", thats the one that you have to download the software to look at. Read all the instructions and go for it.
Perhaps that is the terminology used when a unit is made up of portions of two different sections.
