New well permitted 10/6/09 in RRP, Sec 004, T12N, R9W (Joanna Carson 4H), #240295

The proposed depth is only 12,000', but Sonris lists it as a horizontal. Is this correct? Why would Encana drill a horizontal well that shallow? If that depth is correct, would this be drilled into an area other than the Haynesville? This is the first well permit of any type in T12N, R9W in years. Any information would be appreciated. Thx.

RRG, the following is the first Haynesville Shale well permitted for the Carroll Creek Field. The proposed vertical depth is 12000 ft while the total measured depth is proposed to be 17000 ft.

EnCana, Joanna 4 #H1 Well, Serial #240295, S4-T12N-R9W

Jaretta, you may want to read the following topic as BJ must be in your section. Expect increased activity in Red River Parish over the next 9 months as many leases are approaching expiration.

Hey Les B, I thought the same thing! I'm not doing so bad after all.BJ
A TOWNSHIP IS 36 SQUARE MILES. A SECTION IS A SQUARE MILE. THERE ARE 36 SECTIONS IN A TOWNSHIP. THE SECTIONS ARE NUMBERED FROM RIGHT TO LEFT STARTING IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF A TOWNSHIP. THEN THEY DROP STRAIGHT DOWN TO SECTION 7. AND GO LEFT TO RIGHT. THEN THEY DROP STRAIGHT DOWN AND GO RIGHT TO LEFT AGAIN AND CONTINUE LIKE THIS UNTIL YOU GET TO 36. HOPE THIS HELPS .
