I was contacted today by Jude Clark wanting to extend my lease for 3 yrs. It does expire until Oct.31 2010. He was offering 1500 an acre but said they were planning to drill the first of next year. So why extend? My land is in sec3 t9n r11w can someone help??

If they are serious about drilling, why not counter-offer for a 1 year lease only?
Had an Encana man contact me with the same offer. My lawyer advised me to hold off. They are just trying to hold onto all they can before the prices go up. If they really plan to drill soon, why would they spend any more than they had to? Don't get in too much of a hurry.
