GoHaynesvilleShale continues to grow!

So here's a place for new comers to introduce themselves and members to welcome them and show them the ropes. In the same way we might go around the room and tell a bit about ourselves, let's do that here. Newbies, you can let the members know things such as:

- what state / county you're from

- what you hope to gain from and offer to the GHS community

- whether or not you're a mineral owner (i.e.you own land that has minerals beneath the surface) and/or you're an interested citizen, professional, etc

- if you are a mineral owner, have you leased your land to a drilling company or not

- questions you may have for the community

Welcome to GHS! Let the conversation begin...

I am probably the senior member of the whole group.  I was born in Marshall, Harrison Co Texas about 91 years ago.  My mother left acreage in the Vardeman Survey, the BBB & CRR Survey 125  and the S D Rainey Survey all in Harrison County to me in 1950 - - not worth much then, but I have kept it to this date,  Yes, I sold the land, but always reserved the minerals.  I get numerous offers for the mineral rights, but there is no way I would consider selling for any price..

After many decades, the wells are beginning to pay off.   Apparently, fracking has made the great jump in BP royalty checks.  I have lived in California since the end of World War II, and visit Harrison County only occasionally, but I am glad that the Kingstree Ranch gas units include my childhood home area.
