The lastest info I heard was IP only in the 2mmcfd range not good for shale well but had compeletion problem with 1/3 of lateral not fac. only open hole producted 2/3 fac

One data service I subscribe to shows 20,879 mcf of production (total) for September on the Harveyh.

This is the first production month they report.

The important unknowns here are the number of days the well was online and what zone was completed. If the total days online was less than 4 or 5, its a decent well, if it was on for most of the month the zone completed may not be that good.

Gungagalonga, since we're not sure how many days were in the September report, we should have a much better idea of the production of the Harvey #1 in the October report. Do you know when the October report should be available?

It is usually updated around the middle of each month and has a two month lag time on natural gas production. So, middle of December should be the next report for October production.

Chesapeake Operating completed the Harvey Well No. 1H to 11,331 feet 8.5 miles northeast of Center in a wildcat field. On a 28/64-inch choke the well potentialed 3.162 million cubic feet of gas.

Ouch.

Anyone have further info on what the issues were with this well?

I have heard elsewhere on the site that CHK's nearby Carzenava well had IP'd in the 17mmfcd range a few miles to the West, so I am curious if lower IP on the Harvey was something geological going on or whether technical problems.

Any thoughts/insights?

The one thing that stood out (to me) is that the reported depth is way short of the premitted depth. First thing that comes to mind is that this is an IP on a vertical well.

No it was IP on the H ----completion problems 1700' was open hole completion -no segmental hydro frac out of ~4900' lateral so only ~ 3200' hydro frac done on the well is rumor I heard from good source.

Please pardon my ignorance. It's kind of like "talking Starbucks" and hearing people order a Venti Frap hold the whip with an extra shot.

For this lay person, can you tell me what all this means with regard to the Harvey well? Kind of sounds like it didn't play out very well but that maybe they got something out of it. Is that right?
