Funny how coal can blow off mountain tops and create mercury filled sludge ponds and it's not that big a deal in the media. Little surprised at the angle that the authors took.
All the anti drillers have to do is drive a wedge between those who have an interest and those who don't to get the government to involved.
Just like drillers have learned to "frac" to shake the gas loose, the government has learned to "frac" the citizens to turn the taxes and fees loose, huh?
The NG companies need to get ahead of this stuff. Identify the major objection (fracing) and be more proactive instead of reactive. Start talking about alternatives to the current chemicals, change the name from "fracing" for the sake of the general population. "That fracing gas well killed my cows!" Talk up "organic" and "green" techniques, "chemical reduction programs". At least make it sound like your concerned whether you are or not. Obviously the "1% chemical composure" argument isn't soothing anyone and I don't think that the argument that fed regulations will cost more is going to win many people over.

Haha, As soon as I post I see this. Problem solved (sort of)!

ALBANY, Ore. & SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. & SHREVEPORT, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HBC Systems, a newly created joint venture between Hydration Technology Innovations (HTI) and Bear Creek Services (BCS), announced today the launch of the Bear Creek Green Machine, a unique environmentally-friendly water reclamation process for the oil and gas industry.

The Bear Creek Green Machine is the first energy efficient system for recycling the millions of gallons of fresh water used daily in the oil and gas drilling process.
Here is an article from a Canadian publication about fracturing:

America: Awash in Natural Gas—as Long as Hydraulic Fracturing is Allowed

How come the Canadian public is not up in arms about fracturing? The same with other countries around the world where fracing has been done and still being done.

Don't they have any environmentalists?
Well....that's some fracing good news.
Maybe the anti coal thing is bigger on the east coast.

The History of GoHaynesvilleShale.com

GoHaynesvilleShale.com (GHS) was launched in 2008 during a pivotal moment in the energy industry, when the Haynesville Shale formation—a massive natural gas reserve lying beneath parts of northwest Louisiana, east Texas, and southwest Arkansas—was beginning to attract national attention. The website was the brainchild of Keith Mauck, a landowner and entrepreneur who recognized a pressing need: landowners in the region had little access to…
