I spoke with Mr. Pittman in the past and I agree he seemed to be a nice man. He more or less told me that my little 5 acres wasn't worth much time. He was pleasant though.

It is funny though that SS seems to have such vile hatred of anyone whatsoever associated with oil and gas but holds this man in such high regard.

I thought that his problem with Mr. McConnell was that his company Twenty Oaks Corporation buys minerals, but evidently that is not the problem because Mr. Pittman does the same thing but he respects him.

I just can't for the life of me understand what his problem is with someone who has been so helpful to so many people on here. Mr. McConnell has a long history of helping people with mineral questions long before Haynesville was anything more than a town.

I wish that if SS has a valid point of some kind that he would state it instead of just name calling and paranoia.
And in addition to Mr. McConnell, why attack Rosebud. The only thing that she is trying to accomplish is that we are respectful of each other. What on earth could be wrong with that?

We are all stressed out that things have pulled back. I just don't understand trying to be hurtful to people that are helpful to so many of us. Mr. McConnell has helped so many people on this site. I don't know of anyone other than Jay who has brought so much expertise to this site.
Parker,
My mother taught me that to get respect I would have to give it. She also said in order to gain respect I would have to earn it. You are right, Mr. McConnell has been very informative to all of us on this thread. Before March of this year, we were all just a collective wad of uninformed humanity. Not unintelligent, but very much unschooled in all things oil and gas related. Because of his valuable knowledge, we have all learned more than we ever thought possible. I readily acquiesce to his wisdom. What can we say about Jay that hasn't been said time and time again?
He is a source of valuable information to all of us. I enjoy talking to someone that really knows what they are talking about and not just "feeling" their way around the subject.
Rosebud has been the epitome of a Lady on this forum. She is a refreshing part of this whole crazy Haynesville community!
I despise a bully and some commentators on this forum (you know who you are) think that using bullying tactics is the way to go. People like them will be found out and will lose all credibility with the rest of us. The only way to rid ourselves of them is to stop responding to their outrageous postings. If they get no response they will take their marbles and go home!
Now, I promise to get off of my soap box and do something positive!
You go girl!!
Cat,

You just did something positive. You reminded me not to be drawn in.
Way to go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parker well said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parker you are a quick study! If you learn to ignore a pesky little gnat, sooner or later he will buzz off to torment some other victim!!!
if everbody was nice & agreed with everything
we would be like STEFORD SHALERS.... too boring!
Some people love to debate.

I think what we are asking for is civil debate.

I myself am guilty of getting too passionate in my presentation. I try to never attack an individual though.

I enjoy hearing different prospective. That is often how we learn.
I enjoy hearing different prospectives. That is often how we learn.
Rosebud,
I had to go back and read my posting to make sure that I didn't type GOAT instead of gnat!! That would have been a Fruedian slip on my part!
You are right, we need to be more tolerant of others or Haynesville will pull this blog and I for one would miss all of my new buddies as well as my sparring partners. We can agree to disagree without being rude, crass or tactless.
Depends on the day and our mood..sometimes we are Shale Magnolias and others we are Haynesville Hussies..those are the days we get fiesty!
