Hi Folks, I just received a pre-application notice from the PE for EXCO for the Haynesville Zone in the Kingston Field. It seems to cover sections 5,6,8,11,12,13,14, and 17. All 14N-13W. I'm HBP for Cotton Valley production in sections 12 and 13. What does a pre-application do? Does it define where EXCO feels the HS is? This process is new to me. Also what is next? An aplication to drill and permits for unit and alternate wells? This part (well permits and hearings) I'm up to speed on from the CV wells. Thanks, Cannie

Linda, I'd love to request and attend a conference but I'm in Illinois and a trip down there is not doable at this time. Just thought someone had received one of these notices recently.Thanks.
That is a nice bit of info Ms. Gray. I didnt realize that the phone patch was an option. This should certainly make it easier for people to be a part of this process.
Good idea Linda, I wasn't aware that was an option. I will certainly explore that idea. I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks, Cannie
I am wondering why one well covers so many sections? Maybe that is a whole field?
Foxy, after re-reading it, my take on the notice is that the well specified is simply where EXCO is designating the depths of the HS. The also sent a correction letter as to which well they are refering to. Therefore any well within that depth zone will be designated a HS well. All above that will be Cotton Valley wells. They include 8 sections if my memory serves me correctly (I forgot the notice @ work) that are all in the Kingston Field. It also appears EXCO has a strong leasehold in these sections and therefore would be the primary operator. Perhaps this is a step to start production of the HS in those areas. I'm also curious as to the depths. As I recall, it gave ~a 3000 ft. range. Can I assume you received the pre-ap notice as well? Perhaps some of the GHS experts can weigh in and give us some insight. Cannie
