sequence steps to actual production

They are currently doing the frac. There is no pipeline infrastructure in place yet.
Jack Blake had heard that they usually do not frac the well until they can unload and IP it, but it appears that after the frac is complete on this well it will be sitting a while (minimum of 3-4 months Jack figures) because they have not broke ground on P/L system yet.
After the frac will they unload the well and do a test to flare to get an IP rate?
Will they then run the the production tubing and have the well 100% ready to open and produce when they get a pipeline?
I realize no one may know for sure how it'll go, but what sequence of steps will probably happen?
Has anyone heard how many frac stages this well will have?

Same thing is happening in parts of 14/14 in Desoto. Wells get finished, frac'd, and sit and wait for pipelines. Did not do flare after the frac and no IP rate on well yet

So, how do you know if a pipeline is close enough if you have a well drilled? Is there anywhere you can find out?

Smith, unfortunately in Louisiana only "on the ground" intel is available. In Texas, one can use the TRRC GIS map to see pipeline locations.

Jack, I would say there are three options for companies.
1) Wait for pipeline, frac well, drill plugs, flow to sales.
2) Frac well, wait for pipeline, drill plugs, flow to sales.
3) Frac well, drill plugs, flow to flare, shut-in, wait for pipeline, flow to sales.
I have seen examples of all three but #1 is the most common. By the way, for most wells the production tubing is not run until 3-4 months after a well is placed on production to sales. I know - this is completely different than conventional wells.

So, generally speaking, it is usually 4-6 months from drilling to "producing" royalties?

Strat0, I would say generally speaking yes but the time is getting shorter. For example Comstock is now averaging 3 months for spud-to-sales.

LesB or other experts,
I was by the well site (SECTION 21 t10n R11WMATTHEW MURRAY #21) yesterday and they have what looks like coil tubing hooked up to the well. Is this part of the frac or does it indicate thay they are having problems with the well?
