By the maps put out, the shale field extends eastward to about Ouachita Parish. Now we're hearing of possible drilling in west Mississippi...... Wonder why were're not hearing anything about the Jackson Parish/Lincoln/Bienville areas? Nothings been done since the drilling was all done around Vernon....
Anyone got any info would be appreciated.

The drilling in Miss is not related to the HA here.

YOu may want to look at the newer maps, especially those put out by HK and CHK. Western Bienville is pretty active now,
Charles,
The drilling in Vernon had nothing to do with the Haynesville Shale.
But EXCO is drilling a horizontal in Section 14, T17N-R2W as we speak (not a Haynesville).
You may want to keep a check on this one. I am sure many people are waiting to hear the results of this one, as well as the Della Colvin well in Lincoln Parish. It is a CV horizontal being drilled by Devon.
Are these two oil or gas? I got took for a couple years on my mineral rights but have learned alot in those years and am ready to do some business. Anadarko came and talked with me when the Vernon fields got going good initially then some company screwed it up for all us over in the Clay/Ansley area. Appreciate any info you might have.
anxiously watching this well and wondering why Devon is changing depth definitions to LCV in that area.
Tom,
I do not see where Devon changed anything . Their well was a Lower CV from the get go.
Please explain what you are talking about.
Understand I am a pharmacist by trade and this is a hobby, so i could easily be wrong, but here is the document i'm talking about http://dnr.louisiana.gov/cons/CONSEREN/hearings/2010/09SEP/10-94000... Also I notice another horizontal has been permitted in that area north east of the first well i think.
and i'm not sure what this page is, found it by accident: http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/profile/DEVONLCVDELLACOLVIN1H
And this is a member's personal page. Not shale related but with information specific to your area.
Tom,
Read that one and try to make sense of any of it. Mostly spam in its purest sense.
Charles, the term "field" is not really relevant for unconventional gas plays like the Haynesville Shale.
Les B or whomever, what Section, Township and Range is the Della Colvin well in Lincoln Parish in? THANKS
The Ruston Field, S19-19N-02W
