Will future pressure to not explore in the U.S. , from a non drilling Congress and White House, further empower the soon to be formed N/G Cartel out of Russia ? Or will they be able to lower prices enough to make it less economical to drill and produce here ?

Snake I think this will be one of the main factors in the Haynesville play in the short term. If someone doesn't build a LNG facility and pipelines real quick then we are going to be left in the dust. I think that a power play will come to the front with the cartel offering cheaper prices for NG. Will Europe go with the cheapeast price or the most stable resource? Can Europe depend on a cartel keeping prices low? Will our new changed government want to drill and make a profit off our natural gas? We sit on a mountain of NG, we just need a buyer.
The way the reports talk , this cartel will control over 50 % of N/G reserves worldwide. I find those numbers hard to believe. My main concern would be of course to us first. If the drilling gets pinched here, will we begin to fall behind in the N/G game the same way we are getting slammed in the oil game.Doesnt matter how much of something that someone has if they arent allowed the access to it.

You bring up a great point about the Europeans Two Dogs and having to depend on "The Motherland" being very tricky. But look at us. Demand and a lack of stomach for harvesting what we have here, have put us in bed with some strange fellows over the years.

Being as close to Russia as we are via Alaska, how economical would it be to help rid Russia of their N/G before it can used to control Europe ? As our gas is less expensive, could we export enough for the Euroes to not be dependant on the Ruskies ?
