I know the main opinion about selling mineral rights is "Don't!" But I'm on the other side of the coin right now trying to make a fair offer to someone to buy their rights- someone I know. So I'm not interested in cheating them- just want to make a fair offer. What do we think a fair offer is? I always was taught to not even consider for less than 3x annual royalty income.

GD---re: reply---you are correct I agree with you 100%. I did not think your comment was directed at me but some things where deleted I understand ---so just wanted to be sure. My comments about minerals value posted are IMO only and just for more information to those who are considering selling their minerals to give them additional info to think about. I like you don't want to see snakes preying on the naive innocents on this site. I consider myself openly honest person who desires to be helpful and open myself to continue to learn

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
