Attached is a chart that shows the gas price basis for three interstate indices located in the Haynesville Shale area from mid-2009 thru Feb 2011.  As shown the typical gas price basis is ~ 10 to 20 cents/MMBtu below NYMEX.

To all who follow Henry's "What Price Are you Getting for Your Gas," this will give you information on basis differential to MYMEX. Thanks very much Les. You can see earlier posts by Les on how NG is sold during bid week at the end of the month price at a basis differential off NYMEX. That is, everybody but CHK seems to be able to achieve $.10 to $.20/mcf off NYMEX.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
