I am assuming all wells have this preventer?

Yes, it's the same but different. It has the same purpose - blow out preventer - but the configuration would probably be different. Most companies have a schedule to test the BOP while drilling. But if they are getting "Kicks" they may test it more frequently. A well that was drilled a couple of years ago near my property was testing the BOP weekly. When they are that concerned with the operation of the BOP that says something to me. The well ended up good in Tuscaloosa as a gas well.
