Nobody has mentioned this well, which appears to be somewhat of a sleeper.  Although Nelson/Pryme have drilled wells in this field about 5-6 miles to the NE, it will be interesting to see what Anadarko can do!

Dominique No. 1, Serial No. 243229.  This well is right on the St. Landry/Avoyelles line and is most certainly a unit well for the  AUS C RB SUA, North Bayou Jack Field.

TD is shown as 23,200' and it is currently drilling at 14,178' on 6/27.

This is a really important well for N. Bayou Jack and Moncrief fields, including acreage in NE St. Landry, SW Avoyelles and on into Pointe Coupee.

My family owns land in the immediate vicinity, so I'm praying this is a barn-burner!

Hey Huguet - I spoke to someone who went out there Saturday. They said they were turned away by a Security Guard at the entrance. They couldn't even get close enough to see the equipment or the site. What's up with that? Were the security peeps out there when you went? Is this S.O.P. ?? One interesting thought: I don't think they guard dry holes....

OS,

Well, I didn't expect a dry hole in AUS Chalk at this location (maybe mechanical problems worst case).  I believe the question has always been whether it will produce enough to be economical.  Based on the level of operations, it's going to take a lot of black gold!

Yep, guard was there.  I think it is mostly a ploy/bluff.  It is a public road best I know!  They can likely prevent you from going on the well road (which they built), but not the actual public road.

When should we start to see numbers? When we do will this be an indication of what we should expect from the chalk in this area or do we need to wait for more wells to come on line?
Does anyone know why the Sonris website was not updated yesterday with this well's information?  Do the updates stop or slow down once the end of the line is reached, which should have happened sometime last week?
Likely because there was no report made by the operator to the state.  The well is basically finished except for flow testing.  The reporting on this well has been regular and timely.  Far more so than is the average.  This indicates that Anadarko is making regular reports which they are not required to do and that the LOC staff are caught up on updating the database.  None of those conditions have existed in the Haynesville Play/District 6 for three years.  Enjoy it while it lasts because if the Play takes off you'll never see this kind of timely reporting again for a long time.  Good Luck.
Thanks for the quick reply.  What is the normal time frame associated with the flow testing?  And once that is completed, any idea when production information would be provided (assuming there is production)?
There is no "normal" time really,  It depends on the operator and can vary a good bit.  Jay thinks it will be about thirty days.  I have no reason to think otherwise.

The Sonris site was just recently updated.

Antinum permits a deep Austin Chalk Dual Well 5 miles SE of Dominique #27: http://tuscaloosatrend.blogspot.com/2011/09/antinum-operating-goes-...

I'm assuming this is an expensive well (Dual well) and I take it as an encouraging sign considering the relatively early stages of the new horizontal development in the area. Do they know something about the Dominique #27 or has this been in the works for a while? Last time I checked the Dominique #27 was waiting on a completion rig.

Thanks for the info Old Scout.  All I know is the other Antinum well that is currently being drilled (the AUS C RA SUB - Briggs) to the East is a recompletion of an old producing AC well.   So it isn't nearly as expensive and I believe has a shorter horizontal leg (a little over 4k feet).   Both wells are in Moncrief Field, but it looks like this new well is not a recompletion.

Getting very interesting in this area. . . .

ive heard from a relative living on the dominique site that trucks have been moving in and out throughout the day for the past several weeks.  Assuming this is good news.
The allowable submitted to the state on 9/6/2011 was 2300 BOPD. Let's hope they test it at that kind of rate.
