The 750 people who signed and thereby executed leases with JPD (ie Chesapeake) in the group from Greenwood will know if Chesapeake "honors all executed leases" (according their spokesman Kevin McCotter). At the Oct 4 signing event they were issued a 25 day bank draft. Based on when the draft was processed the first drafts need to be funded before 4 pm on Monday Nov 10th.

With all the bad press that Chesapeake gets we have invite Mr. McCotter to Mondays "revealing event". At exactly 4 pm we will know whether the first drafts will expire (and be returned with the lease) or be funded as promised.

We as a group will assembly in front of Community Bank 400 Travis starting at 3:45 PM. We have invited Mr. McCotter (or a representative) to join us at that time and give him the opportunity to be thanked by members of our group in appreciation for demonstrating to us that Chesapeake "honors all executed leases".

If you are in the neighborhood please join us!

It will look like this....

This is a link to Chesapeake's stock performance. They are are on the threashold of "avoid buying" thier shares. It is not a company that inspires confedience.
Breaking News
Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- StatoilHydro ASA agreed to pay $3.38 billion to Chesapeake Energy Corp. for shale assets and to finance drilling as Norway's largest oil and gas producer taps unconventional sources to increase reserves.

hey does this mean that they will pay all the bonus drafts that they have not paid.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

No it does not mean they will pay anything.

Chesapeake in September sold a 25 percent stake in the Fayetteville Shale project to BP Plc for $1.9 billion, following a July sale of 20 percent in the Haynesville Shale project to Plains Exploration & Production Co. for $3.3 billion. BP also paid $1.75 billion for Chesapeake's assets in the Woodford Shale formation in Oklahoma in July.

Chesapeake was paid $6.95 Billion off of these 3 previous asset sales

Then

Friday October 10,
Aubrey K. McClendon, the billionaire chief executive of Chesapeake Energy Corp., has sold "substantially all" of his stock in the company over the past three days in order to meet margin loan calls, the company said Friday.
media reports have placed the number of shares at more than 33 million

$16.52 was the price per share that day so 33 million x $16.52 = $545,160,000

So all together around $7.5 Billion dollars in sales

And now in Nov. they are Bouncing Checks / Drafts in Greenwood

We the little people would go to Jail for Bouncing Checks

I think Chesapeake & JPD Energy should be on the Front page of The Inquisitor
Its time that chk realizes that the residents of north louisiana are not to be trifled
with and that if they continue to due busisness here with such low corporate scrupals no one will trust them any farther than they could pick up one of there
rigs and thow it.
While the coffin only closed on four lessors Monday the grim reaper is pacing the pavement outside 400 Travis Street and the vault containing the remaining drafts quake with fear as a death sentence of "expired without funding from CHK" looms! Is there no one willing to save them??

Dracula has always been a slow pay company. Don't be taken back if they pay a few days late.
In less than 2 weeks all of the landowners will receive letters from JPD telling them that they are interested in leasing in the area. They will then offer them less than one forth of the original bonus and 3/16 per cent royalty. I hope that they will do like many of us did here in the North Shreveport/Blanchard area with Twin Cities letter, tear it up and make a solemn vow not to lease for one cent less than the original offer and maybe not even then!
The people of Greenwood need to remember that they have a legal
and binding contract and that if chk does not honor the drafts they
open themselves up to a breach of contract suit. The question they should be considering is how long do we wait and how much in damages do we go after .
All the people who are demanding that CHK fund these drafts and lease their land might want to question if they really want to have their land leased by a company as shaky as they claim CHK is. Maybe not getting the lease done now is a blessing in disguise.

Unless you've already spent the money.
WELL today more Drafts are due to be paid.I hope IF anyone gets paid TODAY they put it on here so we know if Chesapeake are starting to pay.
