SWN permitted the L SMK RA SUA; Doles 30 -22- 1W #1-Alt, S30 - 22N - 1W, Ora Field, Union Parish today.  The first alternate well is an indication that SWN now believes they have an area of focus to prove the Brown Dense economic.

same thing and it looks to be about 9,500ft long lateral

Lateral a

Quick lesson, a "lateral" is the horizontal portion of a well.  Therefore, if it has a lat, it's a horz well. The two types in this area is either horz or vertical.

Love this lesson of the day!!!!  Then this means this will be the second horizontal in these sections.

You're right, and the lateral for the Doles well will be about twice as long as the one for the BML well. It will be interesting to see if such a long lateral will present technical problems, but I certainly hope not. Go SWN!

Today's lesson- It's too stinking hot out!

Were the laterals for the BML originally planned to be longer than they are?

Yes they were, but the unexpected oil kick ruined the plan and they decided to cut the lateral short.

If SWN is prepared for a possible high pressure zone/oil kick will it help them continue the lateral as planned on the Doles well?

I don't know for sure, but I would assume since they are saying they want a 9,000+ft lateral.
