Cat equipment arrived yesterday in Pennington to start road for pad. 3.5 inches of rain last night halted this action. Hopeful for the end of the week. Still looking for drilling permit to be posted.

jffree,

Where do you gather production #s for district 6 ?

FYI ---- Work-lights own at "Frank Smith" and "Knight" plus flare

Production reports query: http://webapps.rrc.state.tx.us/PR/publicQueriesMainAction.do

2nd box... Production by Filing Operator (use their Operator ID #), will pull up all production reported by a specific operator each month.  Setting the left hand radio button to pending will bring up all reports in that status.  That is the status all wells have until the completion paperwork is approved and the well is given a Lease ID # and allowable.  At that point the production can only be found by switching the radio button to one of the other choices. You will then get a list of all the wells which fall into the chosen category (Oil Lease, Gas Well or Oil & Gas).

The drawbacks to using this is that, if an operator has a huge number of wells in a given district, you will have to wade through the list, which is arranged alphabetically by field, to find what you are looking for. And, you can only search one month at a time on this query.

It is easier, if you are only interested in one or two wells, to search using the first box.  For a pending well use the permit # or the well API # (without the hyphen) and click the pending button. If the well has a lease ID, use that number and choose Oil Lease or Gas Well. Permit and API numbers are found on the W-1 page. Ditto for Operator ID.

The only place to find out if a well has a Lease ID yet is on the "New Lease ID Built Query". You can search by district, by county, by field, by date range, by operator or by specific well ID (API or permit #). You only need to enter one criteria and the more stuff you enter... the more likely you will not find anything. Keep it simple. On date range, it has to be 90 days or less.

"If Snoppy or someone else can fly it in about 2-3 months, we should know something based on the tank counts."

Snoopy says it may be a couple of weeks.  Waiting for these fronts to settle down.

Snoopy probably doesn't need to try to look at Abbey Road for at least 4-6 weeks.  I wouldn't be in a hurry, but would wait for a day with good weather, and maybe other locationst to spot.

 Thanks Jffree,

You always go the extra mile for us --------  gossip from the store confirms a move of the rig @ Abbey Road to Revolver soon  ---------- also reports of a pressure pocket which collapsed the original hole but the second hole reportedly avoided the issue  ------ some of the operators are attempting  to drill open hole as it is cheaper and faster if you don't have a problem ----------- wonder if they lost the drill pipe in that first hole?

Area received about 1/2" of rain today and find it interesting that XTO is only moving about 3 miles to the South

Scandrill website shows the rig Scan Texas rigging up today 9/19/2012 at Revolver1.  I hope to be in Friday this weekend (I could have said I will be in Friday Friday but my friends are tired of that joke.  LOL).  Anyway I will try to go by there and see what I see.  My place is only about 3-4 miles from there.

I am new here but I have leased property by Switchback Ventures/XTO/Exxon in Pennington.. part of original Dominey land and am very interested in what is happening. I do not live in the area but desire to remain informed. I may be part of this Abbey Rd/ Penny Lane/ Revolver triangle...My dad was from Groveton so I am hopeful, too. Mary.Ozelder. Dominey was my gggrandmother.

Looks like ya'll are doing a great job... Thank you for all the updates and pictures.

I do know that WSH who tried to sign me said that XTO/ EXXON were going verticle for oil and may also do horizontals for gas later but for now are breaking into smaller units of abt  40 acres each.

Does that sound feasible to you? I am a novice here so  would probably be easy to sound ignorant, Hope you will bear with me .

I said leased property and I meant mineral rights... sorry .. I am just part of a larger family grouping

Mr/Mrs. Rush -

XTO/Exxon and many of the operators will seek the largest unit size available to them in order to "hold by production" as much area possible.  I'd look for 160 acre (+10%) oil units and 640 acre +10% gas units.

When the initial permit to drill is filed, it will often be of the "gas" well size (640 acres).  When the well is actually drilled, it may be an oil well (based on what is found down hole) and the unit subdivided to make the maximum required acreage for an oil well (four 160 acre units).

After they have "held" their acreage, they will start infill/developmentally drilling it.  a common spacing for infill oil wells is 40 acres, but it may end up being more or less, depending on field rules and modifications to those rules.

Drilling a vertical to test makes sense, then possibly coming back for a horizontal leg later.  However, the casing size will typically need to be somewhat larger on that vertical than "typical" to allow that to be done.

Thank you  dbob, for your explanations.. That is helpful.. I only repeated what I was told about the 40 acre  smaller spacing from the original larger grouping by WSH. I did not end up signing with them even though I will end up with XTO/Exxon. I preferred a different landman. I agree it will depend on what they find. Personally I vote for oil which I hope will  pay better now. And it is Ms. Rush but you can call me Terrina

Have a super evening and thank you again

Scan Texas has already spudded in. Halliburton cement crew already there. Abbey road has a few frac tanks and only 1 well head.

Yes Scan Texas looks good in Pennington! Please be aware TXDOT is regraveling FM that runs from 287 to Fodice Rd where rig is complete with Pilot car. Will be doing this through Friday.

Heard from a completely unreliable source that Abbey Rd "looks like a good one".
