Has anyone received a royalty check ? If so, how soon after the completion of the well did you receive the check?

MarshallGirl, Thanks so much and yes, this is exactly what I was asking because I was curious what the realistic numbers were in the Barnett. I am assuming all 6 wells are horizontal?

Also, out of curiosity, how long ago did you sign your lease? I appreciate you sharing this information as it is much more concrete than all of the speculation on this forum.

Thanks to Walter Davis, also! Please keep us all updated on #63, Walter.
Thank you to those of you who answered the question placed in the post.
I know they may be from different plays, states, royalty agreements, etc.
I wanted to know the general idea of how long it takes to see aroyalty check afetr drilling begins. In addition, of course, just to have areference point for my dream book, how much the check might be. I am smart enough to realize there are many variables and my results may not be anything like those presented.
Marshallgirl has current experience with the Barnett Play which is a similar but slightly older play. Leave a comment to her and I am sure she can help.
We all share your frustration on the difficulty of getting real accurate info.
Bossier parish sec 36, 15 wells LCV, 4 acres@25% close to $3,000 in July leased since 1998
MTA,
All six wells are horizontal. We signed lease 2 years ago for $1,000 per acre. However, I have a friend you was in the hold-out group who received $27,600 per acre - she has 2 acres. We were not very well informed as to the possibility of large bonus when we signed a lease for $1,000 per acre, but have no regrets as the royalty checks sure look great.
Are you saying that each well pruduced 1500.00 per well. So that would be 6 times 1500.00 per month for 2 acres??
Yep, that is correct. Nice surprise. Of course this was the first check, and many factors could change to affect $$ - like price & demand. But who would have ever thought you could reap this kind of benefit for years to come (if predictions hold true). Never expected to be fortunate enough to be on 6 wells, but have a friend about 2 miles away that is going to be on 11 wells.
The well rates will decline quickly, as will your check unless they drill more wells (which is limited by spacing rules) or gas prices go up.
Linda, I leased my rights in June and have not received a royalty check yet. Hope it wont be long though.
Just wanted to bump this back to the top for any updates.
Yes.
Your lease states when you are due to be paid after completion. Most leases allow 90 days behind going to market. My lease proveds for 18% interest for payment not received by the 60th day. I monitor wells when they are drilled so I know the day they go online. Paying timely and paying interest is like many other terms of the lease....you have to actively monitor and enforce them. I have a company right now that owes interest for paying 2.5 months late. I will be sending a letter in the next few days to collect.
We have been receiving royalty payments from Chesapeake starting about three months after completion in January 2008 of Hays 10-1 in Bienville Parish, based on 20% royalty interest in a 40 acre tract.
