Looks like the choke was changed in October from 16 to 32. I hope the flow goes up next month.

That would spark things up a bit.  That would be nice.  I hope it occurs.  But until then . . .

Thanks John for the update.  It is sort of a albatross poking along at a couple hundred barrels of oil per month.  I am surprised that Anadarko keeps it going at those rates.  But something is better than nothing.  Probably low maintenance now days, just paying off the cost of drilling it in the first place.  LaCour field, a field of one well.

Chip,

Its holding acreage. That's the name of the game. That's why they wanted the large units. A little production will hold a lot of leases.

Well, it doesn't seem to hold our acreage but then we are as the crow flies 7m miles away.  There is another well on LaCour with a shorter lateral and is in production but probably not at the same strata.  LaCour #42 permit has long expired.

True, our lease has yet to expire but soon will terminate.  It was a lease for both Austin Chalk and Tuscaloosa Trend (but no mention of Tuscaloosa Marine Shale).  So it kind of covers top to bottom so to speak.  There are different royalty rates for the two zones and in the past the lease was limited to 16,000 feet or as it may above the Tuscaloosa Trend.  They later combined the two.  So the three dimensional Seismic survey must reveal something.  Hope springs eternal!

APC is still trying to sell their acreage. So any way they can hold what they have they are going to do it. If they have production then that acreage is a plus. It will not expire like yours.

Mine with APC expired!

John your is the first one that I have heard that actually expired. I was wondering if they would actually let them expire. That is not good news. Has anyone else that follows this discussion had there lease expire?

Mine was for 3 years, 2011, 2012, & 2013

Yes it is 2014

We have 1000 acres ready to be leased and I am sure the adjacent landowners will join in as before. 1st come probably 1st served once it gets thru our common attorney.

Can I tell you the resistivity layer is thick down there in the TMS but deep too!

Chip,

They, APC, is now willing to break their acreage down into 10,000 acre units or blocks and parcel it our that way. They are pretty desperate it looks like to get some return from their acreage.

I just checked my lease paper work, and it expires on July 20, 2014 unless of course it is renewed (stop laughing).  I looked at the map and it shows a blue margin around the Anadrako lease area (it seems to continue east but of course is not shown).  But I also see a green line that comes down from the north and kind of circles east, I am suspecting this is the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale area.  But, alas, we do not have a view of the eastern portion. I would be nice to see.

Begs the question of where the rest of the map is located.  Obviously, somebody has developed the map.  Would be nice if we could find the eastern block.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
