Could be! LOL
Well I hope so. I get spread pretty thin and overlook some wells if not reminded. This is one I had totally forgotten.
Thanks, Obed. I hope Tellus can have success with the upper SMK.
obed, I heard they were setting the surface casing. I guess they spud the well on time.
Quarter sections in Sections 27, 28, 33 & 34 of Township 21 North, Range 5 West. Look at the plat at the top of the page. The well is permittrd in existing units where lands were leased previously and the leases are held by existing production. If your mineral interest is not burdened by a prior lease and your ownership is correctly and accurately evidenced by instruments in the public record, you will be offered a lease if/when a company wishes to drill lands including your minerals.
A lease is generally for the life of production. Doesn't matter whether that is ten years or 99 years. A lease expires when production ceases. Eric, you're not providing sufficient information to answer what I think you are asking. Where is your mineral interest located (section-township-range)? Do you have a current lease? Are you receiving royalty payments or have you received them in the past? When you acquired the land did the seller reserve the minerals? If the mineral rights were reserved a mineral servitude was created which remains in force for ten years or longer depending on production or attempts to develop the minerals.
Now that's the type of "quick glance error" I frequently make. S33 is above S4-T21n-R5w meaning that S33 - 28 are both in 22n - 5w. Skip we do appreciate your knowledge, wisdom, and time you generously share with us novices. Thank you....................b

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
