You're welcome, Carrie. After 143 views and no questions or suggestions it looks like the members have grown more comfortable with the new SONRIS architecture.
I have learned the basics because I had to. The new interface is not the least bit user friendly and almost impossible to take deep dives into on an IPad which is my primary device. I can only assume they were forced to change what once was a great source of information but the result leaves a lot to be desired. I will just keep fumbling around trying to find the things that were once easy as there is no other source of information that is LA specific. At least the data is still there you just have to dig to find it. Sometimes I have to resort to a PC when going beyond an initial tab. I bet I am not alone though.
We have all had challenges with navigating the new SONRIS. The change in architecture was a federal requirement, not a decision by the department. Yes, the data is still there but finding it can be a challenge especially for those who were used to the prior architecture. For most non-industry users, the meaningful data searches are few in number. Well permits to drill, applications on the commissioner's public hearing schedule to form units and approve spacing for alternate unit well are the main ones. Then there are some tips to make searches straight forward like keeping the well serial number for keeping tabs on an individual well. The unit LUW code number for monitoring all the HA wells producing from a given section/unit. Those searches require filling in only one search box. Carrie is the C&E staffer who has manages the SONRIS transition so there is no one better to provide guidance or to ask questions of. Members should not hesitate to seek her help.
