Sabine Parish in 1980--Check out this log from before the discovery of the Haynesville

This is a wildcat well drilled by Placid in 1980. Productive HS is visible from 12515' to 12770'. Nobody knew it was productive back then. To give some perspective, this well is approximately 40 miles south of Elm Grove/Caspiana.

Petrohawk and a lot of mineral owners north of I-20. Especially on the far west end of the LA. side of the Play.

Jay. I don't know regarding the area. I have a client with an interest in the well who gives me periodic updates. I'll let you know when I hear that the frac is complete.

Jay/Skip..... if you will refer to the Regency Energy Partners report recently put out, there is a map on about page 13 which contains representative wells in the play. Though the Sharp 7 well is not represented on the map, there is a Petrohawk well represented in north central Caddo Parish which I think could be Petrohawk's Tri State Realty well in 19/14 Section 28. Take a look at the Regency map and tell me what you think. It did not specifically identify the well but it reported the IP @ 6.7 million cu. ft.

SB. I believe you are correct. If the location is anywhere close to accurate, it would have to be KCS Resources Tri-State Realty 28H.

Skip, just understand these 16" pipelines are likely trunklines that have been sized for expected production from multiple sections. That being said, the companies may eventually lay 1 or 2 additional trunklines parallel to the first one so they can operate a three pressure gathering system.

That is still a fairly large trunkline and indicative of an expected high production rate from that area.

Might check o ut the Cates 1 well, drilled in the 1970's between highway 171/Noble and Oak Grove. Shale reported -- but well was plugged and abandoned. No technology to crack the shale back then... even if they had found any NG.

Those are many things I don't know much. I am a builder in Seagrove Florida and I basically understand those priciples. My family and I have 500 acres in that area. We are anxious/ curious about what's there and I read your blog about the well next to us. It is only 1 sec over to the west, I think it called the SL Herold. I read that it is the process of being fract. so how long does that take before we can know the IP.
