What is the township and range?
How the bonus has declined.... I have friends in that area -- 9N -- that turned down bonus offers in the 12K to 16K range back in the glory days of last summer. Might want to hold off if possible -- to see if the predictions of NG prices reaching $7+ first quarter of next year. We can only hope...
It's hard to believe people turned down those kind of offers.

It is sad but true........signed lease and all but no bonus received yet in my case and most of the other mineral owners that were in our pool of approx 1000 mineral acres. We are at a loss as to what we should do.
Thats the same group that I put 21 acres in Desoto Parish into right after the pool you were in was bid out. They were confident of getting 20,000 on the land in the pool I was in. A day after I signed up with them I received an offer for 12,500 an acre but declined and left the acreage in the pool. Thats when the bottom fell out and they didn't receive the first bid. I blew it! We're still unleased.
msfva, I do not have 1000 mineral acres, wish I did. There were over 1000 mineral acres in the pool that I was in and we all went through an attorney to get the bid and draft the lease on our tracks. The attorney only receives a commission if and when we receive our bonus.

I received a bonus offer in the range you show in your post back in the glory days of last summer on my track in T9N and I accepted the offer. However, here it is the end of March, 9 months later, and still no money received. I, and the others in our pool were very greatful to receive the offer and thought we were working with a very good company......no problems with the title, etc., but all I have received to date... zero.....nothing. I hope the people in the Oak Grove community (where I went to high school) have better luck than I have had to date, ask for CASH not promises. I do not know what all the 3K offer included, but as I posted in the Sabine Parish Network section, the offer of 3K does not sound too bad to me, if it is for a ONE year lease and the shollow minerals are excluded. May want to add an optional two years at 10K if no drilling takes place within the first year. Think about it and good luck.

Well, we kept hearing of the $25k/acre bonus offers in DeSoto and points north .... So those with offers thought it might get better.... I know of at least two people that had $1 million plus offers in bonus money and they turned it down in hopes of it getting even better.... greed can wrap you around the axle of reality with absolutly no warning.
While greed may have played some part, i think we were having fun and did not think we had to be in a hurry. May be it want get back to what it was. but the playing field will change again!!
Most times having fun cost some bucks, to some gambling is fun, sometimes you lose when you gamble.
I have been told it is like picking up money from the middle of the road.
Jim wish you the best, I have some money to spread around but it ain't the July money.
