Southwestern Energy Company - Haynesville Shale
Although Southwestern Energy Company (SWN) is known mostly for its pioneering work in the Fayetteville Shale, the company is also moving into other developing shale plays.

Southwestern Energy Company signed an agreement with a private company to develop its 32,800 acres under lease in the Haynesville Shale/ Bossier play in East Texas.

The company has publicly announced four horizontal wells in this area:

Red River 877 #1 – Initial production rate of 7.2 Mmcf per day
Red River 164 #1 – Initial production rate of 13.4 Mmcf per day
Red River 619 #1 – Well finished completion, no data yet.
Burrows Gas Unit #1-H – Spud recently.

Southwestern Energy Company plans four additional wells into the Hayneville Shale during the balance of 2009. Most of its development in this area has been to the James Lime, a different formation zone that lies near the Haynesville Shale.
