Chesapeake Tests Two Bossier/Haynesville Shale Wells at > 15 MMcfd (10/11/09)

"Chesapeake Operating completed two wells in the North Carthage Field.

The Rosborough Well No. 1H hit 15,840 feet 8.2 miles west of Waskom. On a 22/64-inch choke the well potentialed 15.744 million cubic feet of gas.

The Harper Well No. 1H hit 15,178 feet 12.5 miles southeast of Marshall. On a 22/64-inch choke the well potentialed 15.936 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Bossier Shale."

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
