A compnay out of Fort Worth contacted some land owners about leasing land they already have lease. They want 25% of any future royalty payments the owner may receive. But the lease will be for 10 years and I think they were offering $3000.00 per acre. Do anyone have the contact information and do you think this will be wise?

Ten years is a very long time. If you post the name of the company making the offer, members could probably tell you more.
Did we ever get the name of the company?
Ms. FitzGerald,

Just because your company SPECIALIZES in buying royalty doesn't mean that this is an offer to purchase minerals. Twin cities has recorded quit a few 10 year leases. I can imagine that any other company that can find someone foolish enough to do so will also.

But James, as Jay said, I would run away from these folks as quick as you can.
Parker,

Fitgerald is correct reread the original post please tell me you don't think that is a ten year lease offer. The trick? They want 25% of the persons royalty.
Be careful of these releases. They sound good on the front but not so good when youend up. 10 years is a long time but at the end of ten what happens? You loose your royalties? You loose the ability to lease again? It sounds good but look down the road 10, 15 or even 20 years.
THE COMPANY WANTS 25% ROYALTY??? SOUNDS GOOD TO ME OFFHAND, BUT I MAY BE MISINFORMED. BUT NORMALLY, THE COMPANY WANTS 75% OF THE ROYALTY AND THE CUSTOMER IS UCKY TO GET 25%.
