Is the cost of drilling a reason for going outside the H play?? Vertical being less expensive? Or were these areas being drilled prior to 2008?
KR, these shallow formations have been targets for drilling for a long time in Northwest Louisiana. Some companies do not possess the money or expertise to drill Haynesville Shale wells and will continue to target shallower formations. Also, Bengal probably does not have the deep mineral rights in this area so may not be able to permit Haynesville Shale wells.
No need to blame it on "Blonde", k.r.h. It's more a "never needed to know that before now" sort of thing. There were lots of us in that same boat, I dare say.
Hi, the well has been flowing since about bid october, and the pipeline has gone several miles past this well site, they are also cleaning a super pad for sectiond 20/29 of 13 13 as i type this, and leveling a superpad on the south line of section 30 and the neighboring township and range. it had a digital choke the read "29"
which my brother in law says is 29% of the max flow. I talked to the guys flow testing and they told me that it would flow in excess of 40 million a day if wide open
after looking at sonris, the 17676 posting was on 11/1/09, if the 40 million a day is correct and the choke is at 29% that would be about a 13 million a day flow rate which is what i was told by some of the guys at the site.
just for information this was the first well in the area, drilled by NOMAC rig # 50 horizontal from the pad headed south
hi, r.h.! super pads do exactly what? It 's sounds like your absolutely correct, your numbers make sense!
a super pad is double size, 1/2 in one section 1/2 in another, to accomodate 2 wells, one in each. its basically cheaper on the company to build 1 pad, road, tank battery and pipeline instead of 2
Jr.

Have you heard which section they're going to drill first - 29 or 20? Also, are they going to build up the old road on the ridge for access or are they going to continue using the temporary road along the pipeline from the well on section 30? Noticed that Martinez has a new sign on the gate for the old road.
Are you sure it is not 29/64 choke. That would make more sense to me, George Hunt.
I am familiar with choke settings and flow rates neither of which are measured in percentage of anything including IP.
George, an operator would not flow the well wide open since it could result in well or formation damage.
