If we had a nickel for every company that built a leasehold and drilled a single exploratory well in the hopes of proving it, we'd all be rich. The E&P business attracts risk takers and big egos. And much of the money used to lease those acres and drill those wells come from investors. It took Mainland over a year to finally find willing financial partners for this well. And along the way at least one highly touted partner backed out, publicly. Use SONRIS Lite and perform a well search by organization for Mainland Resources. You will find a blank page.
Skip,

When will you be able to start posting rig reports for the Burkley Phillips?

thanks
The weekly report comes out late on Friday. The time varies. I haven't forgotten ya rusell.
ok thank you so much!
Maybe I should do monthly reports instead?! LOL! Jay, Mainland is so good they oughta have this bad boy drilled in three months based on their past drilling experience, right? Oh, that's right this is the first well they have ever operated. rusell, take no offense as we are just inserting a little levity here. I'll still pass on the progress of the well. Just keep in mind this IS the first well Mainland has EVER operated.
rusell, turns out there are some small mouth bass that need catching on the Ouachita River this weekend. I'll be back late Sunday some time. Please feel free to remind me to report on the Burkley-Phillips #1 when I get back, RAPAD Drilling Rig #34 was reported "rigging up" on 7-24.

Skip,

bring plenty of water its gonna be a hot one this weekend!
From the description of rig # 34 by Rapad, it should be easily capable of drilling to 22,000 ft. It is rated to be able to drill to 30,000 ft. But, since I am a newbie that lacks context, I could be wrong about this.
Yeah, Baron, this is historically the hottest week of the year and may reach triple digits in the mountains which is rare. So instead of wade fishing in chest waders, I will do so in swim trunks. LOL! And follow your advise to stay hydrated.
rusell, Mainland Resources' Burkley-Phillips #1, permitted to 22,000' vertical depth, reported 7 days drilling ahead @ 3430'. Report date 7-24-10.
Doubt you will be catchin what Skip was catchin.
TDP, I passed on the small mouth because the Ouachita River was so low that I would have had a long portage or a hike in waders. To think that 6 or so weeks ago was a flash flood event, it is hard to believe just how low the Caddo, Little Missouri and Ouachita have fallen. There were a lot of canoe-ers and kayak-ers enjoying the river but they could only float or paddle so far and then they had a long walk to the next pool. Temps around 100 but the waters was cold as usual.
