I have about 600 acres coming off lease in Sabine Parish later this month.  It appears there was no activity or prodution on any of this property so should be available to re-lease.   Any idea what the going rate per acre is currently for leasing activity?   Is there a split between shallow rights and deep rights?

Where is your land located?  I have some land in 2-9-12, and my lease expires this month.  There's an option to extend for 2 years, but I've heard nothing from the lessor.

The acreage is in 7 different areas:

Sect 35 of 8-12, Sect 25 of 8-12

Sect 7 of 7-12

Sect 10 of 7-13, Sect 16 of 7-13, Sect 3 of 7-13

Sect 33 of 8-13

Current lease expires May 27.  Have heard nothing since original lease, so also assume no production in any area.

James, glancing at the above I remember Cheasapeake was making plans to unitize sect. 16, T-7,13W earlier this year.

Thank you for the info.  Not sure what position this puts me in when current lease expires on May 27.  I have not heard from current lessee or Cheasapeake.   Will keep my eyes open.

I just saw on sonris today that a permit to drill was filed for 2-9-12.  Check out sonris #243197.  The permit was filed by SWEPI.

interesting.  So they did.  Still no word from the lessor, and the clock is ticking.
