"Rebalancing Volumes"

I get royalties from Comstock every month from a variety of wells in different units.  My interest is small. My royalty check for May was about 20% of what it usually is.  This follows another small check earlier this year due to payments of severance taxes to La.  I sent an email to Owner Relations to ask why the check was so small when the well volumes posted on Sonris didn't reflect a huge drop in production.  The response was the following:  “We have a partner working interest owner who is…See More

Steve P replied to Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant's discussion Louisiana lawmakers want to cut taxes for oil. They'd pay for it by upping taxes on natural gas.

Steve, I will be meeting with the editor of the Shreveport newspaper to discuss the possibility of a series of articles highlighting mineral owner concerns.  I am considering including the Comstock units with multiple expired well permits.  It would be helpful if I could ask you a few basic questions.  If you are willing to help, please email me at skippeel@gmail.com

Steve, I fully agree with your reply in the recent Dr. Fine/Robert Johnson discussion.  I would like to point out that Robert Johnson is not posting out of interest in a discussion but specifically to increase the "web presence" of Dr. Fine.  I don't know if he gets paid or not but the fact that he never makes a reply in these discussion threads and "favorites" each one indicates that he is just pumping up the listing of entries for anyone searching Dr. Fine on the Internet.  Keith and I have discussed it and doing so isn't against the site rules and occasionally there is one or more members who do reply so Robert has not been banned from posting to GHS.  I'm not a big fan of this kind of activity but it is common on the web.

Good hearing from you Steve. Hope things are well. I guess I look at this as lagniappe. If it comes, it comes. Just a little extra. But if it doesn't, I'm okay. What part of California. I spent my Navy time in San Diego.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
