Excuses that the O and G market has bottom out - Clearly this shows Oil and Gas Corporation Profit is there. The 16.00 per MMCF is not there, but giving a Mineral Owner .99 a MMCF and receiving 14.22 per MCF - it still is 14,220.00 a MMCF at a payout of .99...

Keith Coburn-thanks for the reply. Would you be willing to compare notes on the terms and any other information you may have?
There seems to be activity in Miller County according to the County Clerk. Also, I have received interest in some land owned between Bloomburg, Texas and Doddridge, Arkansas.
In December 2010 & again around December 2011 my family was been contacted about leasing minerals owned in South Miller County--West Kelly Bayou S5 T20S R27 W. Last week we were contacted again by the December 2010 folks. The terms were poor so we did not even counter an offer. The first offer was through landman for working Stroud Exploration (S'port) and the second offer through a landman (Texarkana) working for JAG. In 2010 the first landman claimed they had over 60% leasehold and if we didn't lease to them they would force integrate us. First one wanted 8-10,000 feet only. The second landman wants all depths. The second one also claimed to have substantial leases in the area too. Question: I follow this site fairly close but I have not seen much about anything happening in the area I am referencing. Did I overlook or did activity in this area slip by me; or, am I being played by these two fellows as to their actual leasehold? Anyone aware of anything happening in this area? Thanks.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
